At Gakusei Karate, practical self-defence is central to our training. Students develop core techniques, combinations and an understanding of how to apply their skills, alongside the discipline and values of traditional karate.
Our balanced approach brings together karate basics, partner practice and self-defence. Traditional kata is introduced later in the syllabus, with an emphasis on its practical applications. This gives students a clear foundation as they progress through their training.
Our grading syllabus includes practical self-defence situations, helping students build their skills progressively. We combine modern training methods with traditional values, and our instructors train every week to continue developing their own karate and teaching.
