Students will not be able to attempt 8th kyu orange belt gradings unless they wear a Gakusei Karate Gi both at the grading and consistently at class. This shows both support for and respect for the club and our style.

In-class Gradings

Your first three full gradings will be performed as part of your normal class. These gradings will be rewarded with a certificate and a new belt. 

These gradings will need to be prepaid one week before attempting. Note that all in the event of a student not passing a grading they will be afforded 2 more attempts before paying the grading fee again.

 

Formal Kyu Gradings

Formal Kyu gradings for orange belt to red belt are conducted 3 times per year.

These gradings will be rewarded with a certificate and a new belt.

Brown and black belt grading

Formal Kyu brown and black belt gradings are conducted twice a year.

These gradings will be rewarded with a certificate and a new belt.

Note that all in the event of a student not passing a grading they will be afforded 2 more attempts before paying the grading fee again.

Please note that your instructors will decide together whether you are ready for grading and as such grading is on a strictly invitational basis.
