Distraction

Environmental Distractions: Creating loud noises, sudden movements, or other disturbances in the environment to draw the victim’s attention away from the attacker.
Decoys and Multiple Attackers: Using accomplices or objects to distract the victim. For instance, one person might engage the victim in conversation while another approaches from behind.

Also distraction diverts a persons attention and will usually prevent them from acting in a pre-conditioned fashion. So if someone has been conditioned to strike back when threatened, diverting their attention may lower their defences and prevent them from responding in their pre-conditioned fashion.

Impersonation: Posing as a trusted individual, such as a police officer, friend, or service provider, to gain the victim’s trust and compliance.
False Pretences: Using lies or fabricated stories to lure the victim into a vulnerable position. For example, pretending to need help or offering assistance can lower the victim’s guard.
Camouflage and Concealment: Hiding true intentions or identity by blending in with the surroundings or adopting a benign appearance.
Deception exploits the victim’s trust and expectations, making it a powerful tool for attackers to manipulate situations to their advantage.
Destruction
Destruction is the most aggressive principle, aimed at causing significant harm to the victim or their property. This tactic can be employed to ensure the victim is incapacitated or to inflict maximum damage. Common methods of destruction include:
Physical Violence: Inflicting serious bodily harm through beating, stabbing, or using weapons. The goal is to incapacitate or cause long-term injury.
Property Damage: Destroying personal belongings or surroundings to cause distress and disempower the victim. This can include vandalism or arson.

False Negotiations: Pretending to negotiate or offer solutions to placate the victim and lower their defences.
Intimidation and Threats: Using verbal threats or aggressive language to instil fear and compliance.
